As Promised

OK, I received my wings today when my kit came from TAC (The Angel Company). I had an opportunity to get some sample layouts and cards done for my first workshop which is scheduled a week from now. So here they are. Love these papers:

I will be giving away a catalog and free stamp set in honor of my new wings. Please leave me a comment and I will select a winner next Monday, April 28. Post your comments please!

Exciting News!

I have been away from this blog for awhile now but it’s because I have been cooking up some exciting things. I have just become an “angel” for the Scrapbok and Stamp Company, The Angel Company. I am very excited. I stumbled on their website one night and fell in love with their line of papers and stamps. They have everything that I love, Bazzill cardstock to match their wonderful style of patterned paper that reminds me so much of Basic Grey, which you know is my favorite. I have been so busy preparing for my upcoming stamp and scrap shops I have not been online much. I will  get my kit tomorrow and immediately start creating wonderful things to share here. No website yet, I want to get my business off the ground here first before I branch out. I can still take orders by email if someone was interested. They have a generous program that rewards their customers for purchases over $30 and they have the most generous hostess program out there. Once again, I’m excited to get started and have already booked my first workshop. I’ll share more later once I get into my kit tomorrw! In the meantime, go scrap something.

Great Mail Day!

I stopped at Archiver’s after work today to use my 30% off coupon and got an album for my son’s baby boy layouts. I also picked up the Bo Bunny Star Struck papers to finish the book with. I was happy with my new stuff so imagine my surprise when I opened the mailbox and there was a huge envelope in it. It was my swap goodies from the “Raid Your Stash” swap from 2 Peas message board. I opened the door and by the floor was a package. It was my Page Maps book by Becky Fleck! Wow, I was so excited, I could not figure out what to open first.

Well, let me just say the book, although I had a chance to flip through it this weekend, is nicer than I expected. Most of the layouts are more realistic and more doable than I thought they were going to be. I like that there is on some sketches, mre than one example of the sketch. She has some she showed 3 different ways. The kicker is at the back, every single sketch is on a little card that you tear out. It has an example layout of the sketch on the back of the card. You put all the cards in this little punch out box and carry it to the crop with you so you don’t have to tote the whole book with you! How awesome is that, ingenius! So I give this idea book a thumbs up. I will be doing more challenges and layouts from this book. Don’t worry, I’ll post them here for all to see. The name of the book if anyone is interested is Scrapbook Page Maps by Becky Fleck

I’m Back

I have been away far too long. Life gets crazy sometime, I guess. Well the good news is that I have been doing some serious scrapping and plan to keep going strong.

I went to my favorite scrap store on the planet Pages in Time, in Granger, In. It is about 90 minutes away from me but so worth the trip. We spend the day cropping and shopping. We break for lunch and come back to the store and stay until they close. They have a huge cropping area that has plenty of space for us to stretch out when they do not have a paid crop going on. We love it there.

So as you may or may not know, my son will be 16 next month. I decided to start and finish his baby years book. I have one for his grade school years but nothing was scrapped from birth to 4 yrs old. I had so many photos and portraits in a plastic container. The rest of the photos I may use to make his grandma a mini book. Here is a layout of from that book:

My son when he was 4!

So what else is going on in the scrap world?

Well, I had an opportunity to see many of the new lines that are out. I love everything by Fancy Pants, Bo Bunny’s Star Struck, My Mind’s Eye Star Bright, Cosmo Cricket Fleuriste,  and Bo Bunny’s Teen Chic is awesome. So many products, so little money!

After I finish this book I will start on a new altered project, I have to also do some tings for Mother’s day. I think I may alter some candle jars. Hmm, I’m thinking. If you have any good projects that would be great for a gift, leave me a comment and link if possible. In the meantime, go scrap something, I am!
